Grove Park Home

Grove Park Home is a charitable not for profit nursing home that was started in 1968 as a grassroots Christian Ministry to address the needs for increased seniors facilities in Barrie at the time. Grove Park was started as a Home for the Aged and is now a nursing home. The challenges that we face daily are more demanding and are due to the fact that we are entering times of an increased aged population who are living longer independantly before they seek the assistance of Long Term Care. Grove Park Home is here to meet the needs now and in the future. Our mission "to contiuously provide excellent care in a secure enviornment with family and community support" guides our structure, routines and goals. We continue to live on the principles of our Christian heritage. Grove Park Home is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and relies on Fundraising as a source for additional needs for a continuum of care.

An important part of Grove Park Home is its emphasis on active participation within the community. This has been an ongoing part of the Home. The Home was the first Long Term Care facility to create an Adult Day Program under its roof. The program, Senior Encounter continues today and offers its services to the community seniors Monday through Friday throughout the year. Grove Park continues to work with community organizations for the betterment of all seniors in Simcoe County.
