1. How long is the waiting list for Grove Park Home?

  • Our waiting list is held and controlled by the Community Care Access Centre. Placement is prioritized on the basis of client need and is dependent on the availability of a suitable bed at that time.

2. Can I bring my own Furniture to Grove Park Home?

  • You need only minimal items of furniture for the space in your room is limited and too much furniture is a risk to client and staff safety. A bed, night table, chair and lamp are provided. Closet space and dresser or an armoire is provided for storage of your clothes.

3. Do I need to label my clothing?

  • The home will label all clothing for the resident.

4. How long do I have before I must move into the Home after I have accepted a bed?

  • The bed is available for 24 hours, however, if a person is unable to move in within that time frame, the bed may be held for a maximum of three days. 
  • In order to hold a bed beyond the three-day limit, a written agreement must be in place in which the client agrees to pay the accommodation fees for the days the bed is held plus a bed holding fee.

5. Can I keep my personal physician?

  • Yes, if your doctor has a contract with Grove Park Home.
  • Grove Park Home does have a physician onsite whom you may choose to use after you are admitted to the Home.

6. What are the visiting hours?

  • There are no formal times for visiting at Grove Park Home. This is your home and you may invite visitors at any time.

7. Are Guest Meals available?

  • Yes. Tickets for guest meals may be purchased in the administration office. Grove Park Home also has a Family Dining Room that can be booked for your personal use. You may choose to have your dinner supplied by the Home or bring food in. Arrangements can be made through the dietary department.

8. Can I transfer from Retirement Living to Long-Term Care?

  • Admittance to long-term care must be done through the Community Care Access Centre. The Home will work with CCAC to accommodate a transfer wherever possible, but it cannot be guaranteed.

9. Can you accommodate special diets?

  • Our dietary department colaborates with our dietician to accommodate special dietary needs.
