Resident and Family Events
At Grove Park Home monthly activity calendars are created for each unit. While most events are hosted by unit based Activity Staff, some events are part of the whole Home, bringing all residents together. Often families are invited to these events as well. No matter what the occasion, you are always welcome to join us.
Activity Calendars provide many activities each day. Residents are encouraged to participate as these activities foster socialization, can increase small motor skills (quilting club for example) and can help stimulate interests that a resident had before coming to live at Grove Park Home.
Staff engage residents in many activities each day. The events can include Quilting Bee, Garden Group, Sensory Circle, Men’s Club, Church Services, Knit and Purl, Hymn Sing, Hand Therapy, Movie Time, Let’s Get Physical, and an artist-led Art Class. This is just a sample of events that happen throughout the month. Calendars are posted on unit and online.
Staff, residents, families and volunteers help us turn the halls into holiday inspired fun. Each holiday, and the changing of the seasons, will see new decor and activities related to the calendar. Our residents enjoy the festive atmosphere we create; it reminds them of home. Be sure to visit often to share the celebrations with us.
As friends and family, you are welcome to visit and take part in activities and events any time. Consider stopping by or volunteering to help out with a special event. We also host resident and family events including a Summer BBQ and Christmas Luncheon. These events sell out fast so sign up quickly.
