Telling Your Story Through Planned Gifts
Planning to Give
How you choose to give, and who you choose to give to, tells a story about who you are. Whether you give during your lifetime or plan charitable donations through your estate, a story is shared with your family. Your charities of choice have a connection with you, either from personal experience or community impact. Big or small, planned gifts shape our communities.

Your life insurance policy offers a simple way to support Grove Park Home. Upon death, your insurance company will pay the proportional amount (there could be multiple beneficiaries) of death proceeds directly to our Home. We will issue a tax receipt to your estate for the policy proceeds. Note that you will not receive donation receipts while alive.
A charitable bequest is a gift made in your will. Bequests are unique to each individual and can include a lump sum of money, a gift of securities, real estate, or property, or a residual cash gift after estate expenses. While the gift can specify purpose, a conversation with our Fund Development Office can help you with this decision.
Giving during your lifetime is a rewarding experience. Whether you support significant projects in the Home, or pledge regular contributions, you can see the impact you have on those you care about. This is an opportunity to share your values with your family, and inspire the next generation. Ask about our Capital Needs List for projects that need support NOW.
Giving is good for the heart and soul. However, giving also has to make sense financially and legally. Revenue Canada will reward your kindness and the laws allow specific donations. Your “giving” conversation should include our Fund Development Office, your accountant, lawyer and financial planner. This circle of trusted advisors will ensure your gift is meaningful and beneficial.
